GRAINGER
•Installed all new power and control systems to conveyor network.
• Cost and time savings through use of pre-engineered cable harnesses.
• W. W. Grainger, Inc., a Fortune 500 company, is one of the largest distributors of industrial supplies and equipment in the world. Beach Electric performed a $1 million upgrade to the conveyor system at their Robbinsville warehouse which would allow the client to increase the speed and efficiency of its order fulfillment. • Over a 13-week period, all new electrical and control systems were installed. These systems supply power to the motorized conveyor assembly and enable operation of the bar code reader instruments. Because certain elements of the work could only be performed with the system offline, it was necessary to schedule regular outages. All these outages took place between Friday evening and Monday morning so as not to impact the client’s work week. Working double and triple shifts, we remained on-schedule and were able to meet every milestone of having the system back online each Monday morning. As a result, the facility remained active throughout the project with no loss of earnings or productivity due to our timetable. • One important aspect of the project was our decision to use pre-engineered cable wiring harnesses. This resulted in savings of both cost and time by eliminating the need to group single wires by hand. • The job was finished on time and on budget and the client now has a state-of-the-art distribution center.
• Working in an active facility Monday through Friday.

• Disconnecting the entire system of conveyors each weekend and restoring operations by Monday morning.

• Working around-the-clock shifts seven days a week until completion.
